Signed US War Veteran Pension Certificate. Under the act of February 6, 1907. Numbered:# 1098391. Framed.
The Act of February 6, 1907, was a United States federal law act granting pension eligibility to Civil War and Mexican War veterans who had served 90 days or 60 days, respectively, and were honorably discharged, upon reaching the ages of 62, 70, or 75. The Act established a tiered monthly pension system: $12 for those 62 and older, $15 for those 70 and older, and $20 for those 75 and older.
This document certifies that, Thomas B. Martin, a sadler from the 'Regiment New York Cavalry' was awarded a pension of 15 dollars per month, commencing 3rd of October 1908. Signed 31st October 1908 by Secretary of State and the Commissioner of Pensions.

Belonged to Thomas B. Martin, of 25 Years, from Belfast, Ireland. A shoe maker by occupation when he enrolled as a saddler to the regiment, in 1 January 1864.
